Inside the Internet Movie Database

Sunday, October 23rd, 2005

Learned a couple of things about the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) today… For one, the site is owned by Amazon.com. I really didn’t know that. The other, is that it has a Power Search page. Or at least the article I’m referencing says it does. I’m going to start checking that out as I move [...]

Rocky VI? It’s really happening

Wednesday, October 12th, 2005

The WB’s Supernatural

Wednesday, October 5th, 2005

I need help. Serious mental help. My past experiences with the WB should make me realize the new show Supernatural is most certainly doomed to the world of early cancellation. Yet I watch and enjoy any way, and I’m in danger of getting thoroughly hooked. The writing’s pretty clever, and I’m a sucker for the [...]

Bob Denver – ‘Gilligan’ dies at 70

Tuesday, September 6th, 2005

I know the death everyone’s talking about is Chief Justice Rehnquist, and I’ll have thought on that one later… But for now, I just want to say that I certainly didn’t know Bob Denver, but he really made me laugh. I watched way too many Gilligan’s Island reruns as a kid Rest in peace, Gilligan.

Jimmy Iovine, the chairman of Interscope Records, Universal’s biggest division, told the newspaper: “We need to convert a lot more people to the habit of buying music online. I don’t think a way to convert more people is to raise the price.” At least one of the record companies is making some sense. The others [...]
