One of my favorite things about Soularize is the variety of opinion that flows from not only attenders of the conference but the workshop leaders and keynote speakers. I just sat in a workshop with Rita Brock, and it’s fascinating to hear a coherent theology of the cross without atonement theology. I’m still more of a blended kind of guy when it comes to my theology of what happened with Jesus’ death and resurrection, but it’s fascinating to listen to someone with pretty vast knowledge of the history of the Church who has a theology which completely denies atonement as what happens on the cross.
