A Different Perspective

Faith, Art, Politics, and the Emerging Church

about the podcast/blog

a different perspective from alan hartung on the emerging church, politics, faith, and life

Rankings are so fickle, aren’t they? For whatever reason, I’m number one when you do a search for “emerging church” in iTunes podcasts. I’m sure that’ll last a day (though I’m not even sure how long I’ve been at that position).

So one of the least prolific, albeit the first, emerging church podcasts has decent visibility.

I have three more episodes nearly “in the can,” I just need to record intros. Tomorrow I’ll be putting up a conversation with John O’Keefe. Next week will be a discussion with Scot McKnight. I’ll follow that up either with a solo podcast (because I have some issues I’ve really been burning to talk about) or a conversation I had with Len Hjalmarson. The conversation with Len is definitely coming, I’m just trying to space out the podcasts by at least a week… because it’s my goal to make this podcast weekly, and I know that means I need to be ahead, because there will definitely be times when I don’t do a podcast for a few weeks at a time!

R. Scott Smith author of Truth and the New Kind of Christian, which I reviewed here, will be joining me for a convo focused mostly on the topic of his book. We’ve had a friendly exchange in the comments portion of my review (he’s let me know he’ll be responding again soon), and it’ll be great to be able to actually talk rather than just an exchange of writings.

I may end up bumping up Scott and I’s conversation to make it more fresh to the posting of my review.
