A Different Perspective

While in college at Azusa Pacific University, I (Alan Hartung) hosted a two-hour radio show on Saturday mornings called, “A Different Perspective.” Each week, a main topic related to Christianity and culture was discussed with special guests, listeners, and through an extended “monologue.”

When the podcast revolution began late in 2004, A Different Perspective was revived and, to my knowledge, became the first podcast to come out of the emerging church. Episodes of the show have not been as regular as I’d like, but I’m working on putting out a minimum of two shows per month.

When the podcast started, the name of the blog changed from my name to “A Different Perspective.” The meaning behind the title used for both blog and podcast stems from an interpretive understanding of truth which flows from each person’s individual perspective. Even if you agree with me, my perspective is different from yours as we look at the amazing Truth from our unique vantage points. By sharing our perspectives, we gain a better understanding.

In addition to this blog and podcast, I serve as the General Editor of THEOOZE. I consider THEOOZE to be a “hub” for the emerging church conversation.
