I got out, Spencer and company should be leaving right now. I hope their plane didn’t get canceled. When I left, it was the latest one from American Airlines which had not yet been canceled.
I’m trying to get on an earlier flight to Los Angeles right now. I think I’ll be on, but so far [...]

I may have heard this one before, but I can’t remember for sure.
Johnny doesn’t want to go to church. He protests and protests and protests. Finally, he says, “I’ll give you two reasons why I shouldn’t go to church. One, I don’t like them, and two, they don’t like me. So you tell me why [...]

Conversations outside of the Soularize event usually make the conference for me. Today, I was just lounging in the hot tub at the hotel, and one of our keynote speakers, Rita Brock, stepped in. We had a great conversation which was all over the place from the Samaritans to the early church to fundamentalists hating [...]

I had the pleasure of meeting Frank Viola at Soularize and today I ran the webcam for his workshop which streamed via the FeedLive service.
Frank spoke about a “radical ecclesiology” which looks to the early church for guidance in church structure. Frank has done a wealth of research, and though I haven’t read all of [...]

“Heaven is important, but it’s not the end of the world” - N.T. Wright at Soularize in the Bahamas, October 25, 2007
Such a great quote, I had to share it right away.
N.T. spoke quite a bit about heaven not being “up there” in a space in our physical universe and that salvation is not about [...]

Soularize kicked off with a visit to a private island. Snorkeling, complimentary wine and lemonade, and a lot of amazing conversation.
One of the most important things about Soularize is that we don’t start off with the keynotes and workshops. Instead, we hang out and put faces and stories behind the ideas. It is much [...]

Just arrived, meeting the cool people a part of the church where most of the conference will be held at.
Regular updates from Soularize will add some content to this poor, neglected blog…
