A Different Perspective

Faith, Art, Politics, and the Emerging Church

a different perspective from alan hartung on the emerging church, politics, faith, and life

Is Post-Emerging Really Anti-Emerging?: “What has happened, I believe, is that some have seen the emerging church as the thing to become with the the word even changing and often used synonymously with ‘emergent church.’  Why?  1) To identify it with Emergent as in Emergent Village and 2) To solidify that the emerging church has a definite shape and model for church in 21C.   It is easier to critique and talk about because ideally we are all talking about the same thing.  It is also easier to market books, conferences, authors, and thus easier to consume all the products.  It is also easier to duplicate or plant emergent churches – whatever they are.”

Aaron Flores addresses the issue of a “post-emerging” church. Can we emerge before creating the label post-emerging?
