Kathleen Parker’s war on reality: “‘operatives’ = progressives
’stalinist techniques’ = free speech
a candidate who puts ‘country above party’ = a Republican
‘bickering partisans’ = anyone who disagrees with Kathleen Parker
‘mainstream’ = what Republicans think, irrespective of the percentage that think it
‘ stubbornly adolescent’ = anyone who writes intemperate things, not including Kathleen Parker & people who agree with her
‘machine’ = anyone who makes a slightly coherent progressive argument, then wins
‘non-partisan independent’ = a Senator elected by one party (D) who uses all the partisan rhetoric of the other party (R)”
(Via Blog for America.)
I got a kick out of this one. Evidently Joe Lieberman’s ousting in a fair primary isn’t sitting well with Kathleen Parker, a journalist. I read what she wrote, and I can’t believe what she’s accusing a grassroots movement of being… “stalinist” ???
You may not agree with their politics, but the Democracy for America crowd are a truly grassroots movement, empowered by the people who believe in their shared ideals. The rhetoric of this journalist is shameful.
