I’m taking a couple of months off of acting to focus on writing and my web business. For one, my site has been in dire need of a redesign for a long time, but I tend to focus on the sites they pay me directly. I know I’ve lost a lot of business from my website not reflecting the quality of service and the guaranteed 99% uptime. I’m also going to be overhauling the price structure to be more competitive. I won’t be the cheapest by any means, but my server has a ton of extras you don’t get with a lot of the cheap hosting companies.
I also have a couple of screenplays I’ve been close to finishing, but I get too distracted in L.A. to take some concentrated time just for writing. So… I’m living in San Felipe in Baja California, Mexico for the summer! I found a very cool couple who live down here but travel all summer. So from now until October 1, I’ll be housesitting on the east coast of Baja. Which means I’ll have more time to get my personal web projects done, write, and… crank out some podcasts!
Thanks to all of you who keep asking about the podcast, it does me good to know there are people who really resonate with the thoughts I express through that medium and motivates me to keep going. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I’m typing this offline, as I’m waiting for the guy who does the internet down here (I wish they had satellite internet, but beggars can’t be choosers!) to come and fix it. I guess he changes the password periodically, and he changes the password on every router for his customers… I understand avoiding piracy, but there are better ways to do it. And the ironic thing… he’s the same guy you go to if you want to get pirated satellite tv… crazy.
I’m breaking in a new battery for my powerbook, so I need to keep the laptop on while I burn it down to zero before recharging it again. I ordered one that has a higher capacity than the original battery for a 17″ powerbook. I’ll let all of you mac fans know if it’s worth it.
I lived in LA for four years. Started out doing the ‘industry’ acting thing, but God had different plans. Of course I went with God’s plans but part of me wonders what would have happened if I kept at it. But obedience is probably a good thing.
Blessing on your endeavour. I hope it goes well!
