A Different Perspective

Faith, Art, Politics, and the Emerging Church

about the podcast/blog

a different perspective from alan hartung on the emerging church, politics, faith, and life

I’m starting to sell stuff.

That’s the simple way of putting it :D

I’ve put up some slogans for starters on T-Shirts, coffee mugs, coasters, buttons… My simple rule is that it has to be stuff I’d actually wear or use. I think I’m starting with the “Bush Deserves a Fair Trial” Baseball T, but the WWJB? “Who Would Jesus Bomb?” coasters are mighty tempting.

Check out the store by clicking here. While some of it is definitely politically slanted, I’ve thrown in stuff like “Snarky!” for good measure.

And there’s an RSS Feed so you can get updated when I add new products to the store!

  1. And you “emergents” say the “established” church people are nasty and unthinking. One could think rationally about the Just War doctrine and its basis in historical Christianity as well as Biblical support for the idea … or one could fall into line with all the other unthinking crowd and say “Who Would Jesus Bomb?” and “Impeach Bush.” I guess we know what you have chosen.

I’ve written an article comparing “Just War” and pacifism entitled, “Lamenting an Anti-Pacifist Church.” If you take the time to read it, maybe you won’t think my position is “unthinking.”

Regarding the impeachment of Bush, your attitude seems to imply only the unthinking crowd could believe Bush should be impeached. If you peruse posts in my politics section, I believe you’ll find that I have given it much thought, and there is much evidence which would lead one to conclude this president should be impeached. Bush deserves a fair trial, and so do the American people.
