A Different Perspective

Faith, Art, Politics, and the Emerging Church

a different perspective from alan hartung on the emerging church, politics, faith, and life

So I’m still playing with Google Video, and although I’m still very annoyed by their neglect of Mac (I think the thing that bothers me worst is that you can’t search for videos that only play on Mac… I found ONE movie that I can purchase out of everything on Google Video thus far for sale…), I want to test what could be a very cool feature for free videos. They have a “Put on site” link, which gives code to put a video you like on your site. So I thought this short clip was entertaining and probably would click with many readers of this blog:

  1. There are a couple things that are unfortunate in this video. First of all, “fellowship”. Who uses that word?! “I’m going to go fellowship with some buddies…” Stupid Christian words.

Next, why does “worship” have to be put in a box like this? “Ok, now it’s time to worship”. And why does worship have to mean music?

  2. “I’m sorry Lord for the thing I’ve made it”

  3. I found myself with conflicting ideas. On the one hand, our worship often shows that the God we sing about doesn’t seem to be so “amazing.” On the other hand, the form of worship they were engaged in shouldn’t be put up as such a supreme form of worship that a person couldn’t rightly be bored with it…
