Brian McLaren gives a thoughful response to the horrific behavior of a few.
His approach to the Scriptures on this hot button issue is commendable. While I am interested in seeing where he ends up, I am glad he wrote what he did about the Scriptures in relation to homosexuality. It is a conversation worth having.
I especially liked the way he gently points out that those who proof-text with Leviticus, Romans, and 1 Corinthians seem to not have a problem disregarding Galatians 5:15, 6:1. Can’t we extend a little grace to those wrestling with seriously difficult and culturally prominent issues?
I would hope we can.
