Ahhh! I had to listen on internet radio to this one, as I was at the theater again all day. Talk about going down to the wire. The Chiefs incredibly drove down the field (starting with just :16 left on the clock) and got in place for a 42-yard field-goal. Lawrence Tynes, who’d been solid all year… hit it wide right. I might’ve gotten to catch a little OT had he made it, as the play had just ended when he missed the field goal.
At least the Chargers lost today, too. KC’s not out of the playoff picture yet, but it keeps getting tighter and tighter.
So I finally got to see the missed field goal. It was a bad snap.
A couple of weeks ago, Kendall Gammon went down, the Chiefs veteran long snapper. I told a friend at the time, “I can’t believe this isn’t getting more press. He’s a rock. He never makes a mistake. This could be really bad in such a tight playoff race.”
Seriously. I said it. Oh, how the Chiefs wish Kendall Gammon were healthy now.
