a different perspective from alan hartung on the emerging church, politics, faith, and life

At first, I was really bummed to learn the first iTunes phone was going to be on Cingular, the cellular carrier I recently abandoned so I could actually go places and talk on the phone. Verizon has been everything I wanted it to be. Now, I go some place, and in my own home, and my phone works! I can talk on it. It’s truly amazing. After five years of AT&T and Cingular, I didn’t know there was such a device you could take with you and make phone calls almost any place you are at.

So the ROKR iTunes phone is a perfect match for Cingular, you see. Since you often can’t use your phone for talking, at least you can listen to your music while you’re missing those important calls!

  1. I must say that if you can go anywhere and your phone works (that is you can make & take calls)… that’s not a bad deal – even if you don’t get a bunch DRM-laden songs to listen to.
