A Different Perspective

Faith, Art, Politics, and the Emerging Church

a different perspective from alan hartung on the emerging church, politics, faith, and life

I just thought it deserved a title post. I don’t know how I missed it yesterday. I watched all of the extra long Cowboys-Seahawks game, and they didn’t report on the dramatic comeback… unless it happened the few times I was out of the room.

At any rate, on Sunday my third favorite team won… whoever’s playing the Denver Broncos.

My second favorite team lost, however, as the Raiders won.

And my first favorite team? The Chiefs of course won on Friday in a rare change of days due to Hurricane Wilma. Despite having to travel on game day, unheard of in the NFL and according to head coach Dick Vermeil it’s “against the rules,” the Chiefs posted a 30-20 victory over the Dolphins. It was the first Chiefs victory in Miami since the 80s. Of course, they don’t play the Dolphins every year, and sometimes they play in KC, so that’s not really a great stat.

But, if the Chiefs win during the Broncos bye week, they’ll be tied with the donkeys for first place in the West.

I realized that I had missed the Broncos bye week by one week after I submitted my post. But I figured, hey… the Chiefs can beat the Chargers. No problem.

I was supposed to go to that game, and my idiot friend forgot to buy the tix. I can’t afford scalped prices! I’m so upset… I’ve been planning on going to the Chiefs-Chargers game in San Diego the last three years, and something always happens. Last year, a guy who basically owns the company that runs concessions for Qualcomm promised my (same) friend tix at the beginnging of the season. Then the Chargers turned out to be good and he wouldn’t return calls for the tickets…

  2. Not so fast… you still need to get past my Chargers next week. Remember the old saying… don’t look past next week, baby!
