The Blog for America revealed this about the Republican hypocrisy on “right to life” issues. I don’t like taking either of the major political parties sides, but there is definitely some hypocrizy going on when a poor black person dies because of a law then Gov. Bush signed in Texas, but a white woman in a swing state gets the President to jet back to Washington to intervene with seven years of state litigation…
For the record, I think starving Terry Schiavo to death is cruel. But that doesn’t mean we can overlook blatant hypocrisy. If you can’t afford help in Texas, you can just die. If you happen to be someone the Republican right will rally around, we’ll call congress back from their easter vacation and sign a bill for only one white person.
I’m tired of the “but look over here” way both political parties are trying to spin this. This is all about “who chooses” and what moral and ethical considerations they use in making their choices.
The one thing that everyone should take away from this, is that if you love someone and feel that one of your main functions on this earth is to care for them and protect them should they become unable to care for themselves: learn what you need to do to fight off your adversaries as if they’re the President of the United States.

Yes, I agree.
It’s pretty incredible how one situation can spiral out of control gaining national prominence, while just as significant events, or more so, happen all the time and go virtually unnoticed. Darfur, in my opinion, is a situation worthy of much more concern than this case.
