A Different Perspective

Faith, Art, Politics, and the Emerging Church

about the podcast/blog

a different perspective from alan hartung on the emerging church, politics, faith, and life

Dean says some interesting things in this interview. I personally believe that Republicans should fear Dean winning the chairmanship of the DNC.

They would fear even more if Dean or whoever ends up chairing the DNC would learn how to not detest evangelicals (for Dean I should say learn how to teach others not to detest them… he seems to have an understanding for those with faith). Although I no longer consider myself an evangelical, I feel the hatred of Christians that exists in many Democrats. The aversion to Christians no doubt strengthens the Republican hold on evangelicals.

If Democrats (and some third parties) could tone down their rhetoric against the religious, they may find more of them open to democratic positions which are much more moral than the republican positions. Rather than called to compassionate conservatism, evangelicals may feel called to be simply compassionate.

And by the way, I’m still Green Party.

More thoughts on politics and faith coming in my next podcast of A Different Perspective.
