A Different Perspective

Faith, Art, Politics, and the Emerging Church

about the podcast/blog

a different perspective from alan hartung on the emerging church, politics, faith, and life

My soul longs for the day I can be the person I am on the inside on the outside.

I’ve written those words before, in a television pilot I wrote. One of the characters says, “The greatest freedom is to be the person on the outside, you are on the inside.”

Mike Yaconelli once wrote an article called “The Secret Self” and I just read it. It’s linked above, I recommend giving it a read when you have a chance.

One Response to “The Secret Self”

  1. Pretty potent thought, there. Makes me a little sad, sort of. Often I find that the more I try to be who I am on the inside, the more I find rejection and misunderstanding waiting for me. Ah well. The longing is both blessing and curse. Thanks for the link to the article.
