After watching much of last night’s debate, my choice to vote third party was strengthened. I can’t believe these two are our choices for president. One of these two men will be president next year. Neither are a good choice for America.
I’m voting for the libertarian candidate, Michael Badnarik. Do I think Badnarik would make a better president than either Kerry or Bush? Honestly, I don’t know. I tend to agree strongly with some libertarian ideals, and others make me just as uncomfortable (mostly the extreme positions on guns and drugs). Truth be known, I would probably vote Green Party were it not for the fact that their strongest candidate is running as an independent.
An independent only has an outside chance if they are a superstar of some sorts. By that I mean extremely rich or extremely well-known (which usually means the former as well). What we need are more than two parties to represent the politics of a very diverse nation. So, my vote for Badnarik is not about Badnarik; it’s about increasing the number of alternative party voters. The only possible swing for me is a vote for a different party, not for one of the two “major” candidates.
