I am not ashamed

Wednesday, September 29th, 2004

Paul, I believe, wrote, “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation.” Lately, I have been wondering if I am ashamed. Certainly I am ashamed of the large portion of the church here in the states who have sought political and financial gain as the [...]

Advertising woes

Tuesday, September 28th, 2004

I posted something about this awhile back, but it’s eating at me again. When you go to a movie theater, the ads should not be blaring so loud you cannot have a conversation. While it is a little more inconvenient, I have decided only to go to a theater in Hollywood which is a little [...]

Simplicity – As I type on a PowerBook

Monday, September 27th, 2004

Simplicity is a word that strikes fear into my heart. Strange as that sounds, it’s true. Although I live much more simply than many in this materialistic world, I am not sure this is a virtue for me as much as a necessity for the vocational pursuits I have chosen (feast or famine in the [...]

THEOOZE – Articles: Viewing Article
An interesting take on American Evangelicalism from down under.
I have been more politically minded lately, but honestly it is not because I think politics are the answer. I once asked someone if everything he wanted politically and legally were to happen in an instant, would the Kingdom of God actually be [...]

Is It Online? Or TV?

Is It Online? Or TV?
Someone’s stealing my idea! Okay, not really an original idea, but my prediction that “critical mass” has been hit for internet streaming of television is looking more and more like a reality. Hopefully the early success of ManiaTV (moderate, though it is) and interest from others will be the final push [...]

The internet is a great source of information

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2004

So why are neither of the major candidates spending cash on online advertising? I have an idea.
This is not an oversight on the behalf of Bush/Kerry (might as well be the same ticket). I think both of their respective campaigns looked closely at online marketing and decided there was a major problem. Online advertising [...]

Robert Mulholland

Monday, September 20th, 2004

I first came across Robert Mulholland in college for a class called, “Foundations of Ministry.” It was really a life discipleship class. His book, “An Invitation to a Journey,” is an incredible resource for discovering what types of spiritual disciplines will most help you in your own unique personality type. It is excellent.
Browsing on Amazon [...]

A friend of mine pointed me to this entertaining graphic. I’m not saying I would pin Jesus down politically, but I think the point is made…

From the old blog

Thursday, September 16th, 2004

Okay, here are posts back a few months from the old blog. I can’t figure out the import right now. I’ll probably move some of the old pages from the old blog to this directory so you can peruse posts from the past.

Finally, the new blog

Thursday, September 16th, 2004

Greetings all! I am no longer using Blogger, as I bought my own dedicated server (www.socalwebsites.com), and my security settings wouldn’t let blogger post. Rather than modify the settings, I chose to use some of the open source blogging software out there I have auto-installable on my server. So far… I love it. Expect to [...]
